Dear Final Leg Team Members;

In honor and respect of Police Week here in the U.S. next week, May 9-15, 2016, I just wanted to take a minute to remember all of our friends and colleagues from around the world who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the citizens of our respective countries.

For everything YOU do, I also want to thank each and every one of the law enforcement members of our 2017 Austria Final Leg Team who are so dedicated and committed to protecting the citizens of your countries, states, cities, towns and communities.  The sacrifices you make in the service of others is remarkable and then you take it one step further in everything you do in support of Special Olympics and the amazing athletes around the world who are able to participate because of your efforts and what you do through the Law Enforcement Torch Run.  From creating awareness, identifying resources and raising funds for Special Olympics, what you do, means so much, to so many!   You ALL are truly the heroes!

Dear Final Leg Team Members;

Greetings!  Just a quick e-mail to tell you that we have completed the communications / media "toolkit" to assist you in promoting your selection and participation in the 2017 Austria Final Leg event.

Now is the time to announce your selection and participation in the Final Leg and start reaching out to your local media to create excitement and awareness for your efforts, the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics.  This "toolkit" has templates for print media, radio, Facebook and Twitter as well as talking points about the Final Leg and the 2017 Special Olympics World Games in Austria.  

We still have quite a few team members who have not submitted the Travel Payment information that was due by Friday, April 29th. PLEASE get this completed no later than this Friday so we can continue with our planning process in that regard.  

Travel payment information does not apply to athletes, Team Leaders, Austrian runners or Logistics Team members.

REMINDER  The deadline for completing the Final Leg Uniform Requisition is this Friday, May 6th, 2016 and  we cannot complete our uniform acquisition process until we have everyone's uniform sizes.  We appreciate you completing this by the stated deadline!

If you have not had the opportunity to do so, please complete these two tasks as soon as possible.  

THANK YOU to everyone who provided their Extended Travel information if appropriate.  That process is now closed and we will provide those details to our Travel Agent.  As a reminder, we are not responsible for making any travel arrangements for anyone joining you at the conclusion of the Final Leg event and if you stay after March 20, 2017, you will be responsible for transportation, lodging, etc.
